Student Open Call 2016: Opening & Performance
Student Open Call 2016: Opening & Performance
Our annual Student Open Call exhibition seeks to support and encourage art students in the North East by providing space to show exhibitions and discuss their work. This year, our successful artists are Rowan Mills and Phoebe McElhatton, whose collaborative show Playing Footsie is on until 3rd March.
Thanks to everyone who came along for the opening night on 12th February, it was a very busy night! Rowan and Phoebe’s playful video gave a party atmosphere to the preview, the centrepiece of which was the exclusive premier of their performance work. The performance featured more dancing and music, taking place within a huge installation they had constructed. The installation’s apertures were removed throughout the performance to gradually reveal more dancing and movement. If you missed the performance, a recording will be shown throughout the exhibition.
Congratulations to Rowan & Phoebe on a fantastic exhibition.
Student Open Call: Playing Footsie is open Tuesday – Saturdays 11am – 4pm until 3rd March at The Holy Biscuit.
Rowan & Phoebe will be joining us for a discussion evening on 2nd March 6-8pm. Free – refreshments provided, everyone welcome.
