This vibrant exhibition, brought together an eclectic group of artists united by their love of painting. With subject matter ranging from landscapes to portraits, with local landmarks and adorable animals in the mix, there was something for everyone to appreciate. Whether viewers preferred paintings that were subtle and atmospheric or bold and vivid, there were images presented that appealed to everyone. There were opportunities to buy original paintings or print at a great price, and simply to enjoy recent work created by both new and established painters.
All the paintings in the exhibition were produced during the Painting for Fun sessions held at the Holy Biscuit. Kim Todd, who started and runs the group, says:
“Some people have done a lot of painting in the past but many have never picked up a paintbrush before. I do not formally teach, I aim to help people get started and find their own way and style. It never fails to amaze me what wonderful creations people come up with. The colours and textures just make you feel happier!!”
